ABOUT ME

A Family Story Woven Into Every Dress

Hi, I'm Melissa—the designer and dressmaker behind Elmwood Textiles.

My journey began in 2010 around my aunt's kitchen table, where my grandmother, my aunt, and I created my very first wedding dress using my grandmother's antique lace tablecloth from her own wedding.

That single dress inspired what Elmwood Textiles has become today—a bridal studio dedicated to giving beautiful vintage lace a second life while creating meaningful heirloom gowns for modern brides.

 For over 16 years, I have been handcrafting custom gowns for brides all over the world. When you choose one of my gowns, you are working directly with an independent, woman-owned small business. I custom design my collections from my private sewing room in Apollo Beach (Tampa Bay), Florida, creating timeless gowns as unique as the brides who wear them! (And when I’m not in Florida, you can find me spending time in my hometown of Orchard Park, NY... Go Bills! 🏈)
